Claytor Lake Customs was born in the spring of 2023 as a home-grown idea right here in Southwest Virginia—and it’s stayed local ever since.

My name is Kristin Short, and I’m the Founder and CEO of Claytor Lake Customs. Starting this business wasn’t a sudden idea; it was something planted years ago. Growing up, I remember the excitement of new team jerseys arriving for high school sports, or seeing fresh decals placed on my family’s race car. As a consumer, there was something incredibly rewarding about watching an idea go from imagination to reality. Even back then, I knew one day I wanted to be on the other side of that moment—the one helping bring those ideas to life.

Claytor Lake Customs began as a side hustle and quickly grew into something much bigger. What started with a passion for custom apparel and design has turned into a full-time business built on creativity, quality, and community. Today, we’re proud to serve individuals, teams, schools, and businesses with custom apparel and personalized products that are made with care and delivered with intention.

Our goal has always been simple: produce high-quality products, in a short timeframe, at a reasonable price—without cutting corners. Every order matters to us, whether it’s a single custom piece or a large bulk order.
